September 9, 1945 – April 20, 2025
“Well done, good and faithful servant … enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:21
On Resurrection Sunday, April 20, 2025 – a day when Heaven opened wide to celebrate Christ’s victory over death – Joseph Hamilton Peacock, age 79, of Dinuba, California, was lovingly called home to be with his Savior. On the very day we commemorate Jesus rising from the tomb, Joseph too was lifted from this earthly life into everlasting glory, a poetic and sacred passing that speaks to the faith-filled life he lived.
Born on September 9, 1945 , in New Mexico to Walter Peacock and Margarie Hamilton Joseph was a man shaped by strong values, and a tender spirit that only grew richer through the years. Raised in a home of love and tradition, Joseph learned early the virtues of kindness, integrity, and reverence for God – virtues he carried steadfastly throughout his journey.
In his early twenties, God placed Lynda in his path – a love story written by Heaven itself. From the moment their eyes met, Joseph and Lynda were soulmates. For 56 years, their love stood as a living testimony to God’s design for marriage: faithful, enduring, and rooted in grace. Together, they built a life of purpose and raised two sons, Joseph Hamilton Peacock II, and Grant Jonathan Peacock, nurturing them in the fear and love of the Lord.
Joe’s presence was a quiet strength in the lives of many. As a husband, he was devoted. As a father, he was wise, patient, and unwavering in his guidance. And as a man of God, he was deeply committed – not merely in words, but in action. His faith wasn’t a garment he wore only on Sundays; it was the very foundation of his life. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and he loved others with a grace that reflected Heaven.
He was a servant in every sense of the word – serving his family, his church, and his community with compassion and humility. Whether offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand, or praying quietly for someone in need, Joe was a vessel of God’s peace and love. Managed the Hamilton packing shed, started a coffee and candy vending machine business. He worked as a salesman, mechanic. For 18 years, until he was 74 years old, he worked as a farrier, caring tenderly for horses – a labor that spoke to his patient soul and deep respect for God’s creatures.
Joe’s life was a living sermon – one of mercy, selflessness, and quiet heroism. He embodied the fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. To know him was to witness God’s love in action.
Though our hearts now ache with the weight of his absence we do not grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). We rejoice, even through tears, because we know that Joseph is alive in Christ, basking in the presence of the Almighty, where pain and sorrow are no more.
He leaves behind a legacy that will never fade – a legacy of unwavering faith, godly love, and holy strength. His beloved wife Lynda, his sons, Joseph and Grant, granddaughters Mollie, Kylie, Olive, his brothers Scott, Bill, and Bob and sisters-in-law, Lynda and JoAnne, many nieces and nephews. His family, and every soul he touched will carry forward his light, walking in the footsteps he left behind, guided by the truths he lived so faithfully.
Rest now, Joseph.
Your race is run, your faith kept, your crown received.
Fly into the arms of your Redeemer, where joy knows no end.
We will carry your love in our hearts – until the day we meet again in glory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wellspring Christian Center Memorial Benevolence Fund, in honor of Joseph Peacock. These gifts will help support those in need within the community, reflecting the spirit of compassion he lived by.
