Mabel was born to Jim and Emma Harris in Reedley, California on January 27, 1923, the oldest of four daughters. She was a nurse’s aide at Alta Hospital in Dinuba for many years, where she worked to earn her RN. After retirement Mabel and her husband traveled on motorcycles for several years. They then found interest in the RV world, where they traveled the United States for about 15 years. During those years their home base was Escapees (SKP) Park of the Sierras RV Resort in Coarsegold, California. One of Mabel’s favorite areas to visit was Crescent City and the California and Oregon Coastlines. She also had a love for lighthouses and had the opportunity to visit many in their travels. Mabel also spent many years very involved in Girl Scouts on several levels, which she enjoyed very much. Mabel was an accomplished seamstress, making many beautiful dresses for her daughters. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren.
