Matthew Paul Ramirez

Matthew Paul Ramirez was born on July 15, 1981, in California to Pablo Ramirez Jr. and Franchesca Ramirez. Raised in Orosi, California, Matthew grew up alongside his siblings, Nicholas and Vanessa, surrounded by family and the memories that would remain close to his heart throughout his life.

Matthew was the kind of person you remembered after meeting him. With his big personality, unmistakably loud voice, warm smile, and even bigger heart, he had a way of making his presence known wherever he went. He seemed to know everyone, and those who knew him knew there was a gentle heart underneath his strong exterior. He was affectionately described by his family as a “teddy bear”—kind, hardworking, respectful, protective, and always willing to be there when someone needed him.

Matthew shared 15 years with his beloved wife, Varnetta. Their story began through Varnetta’s sister, who worked alongside Matthew at Walmart and introduced the two. Together, Matthew and Varnetta built a life centered around love and family. What she loved most about him was his caring heart and the way he always wanted the very best for his family.

He was a loving father to Serena, Angel, Vincent, and Matthew Jr., and a proud grandfather to Samaira. Supporting and providing for his family meant everything to Matthew. At the end of a long day, simply knowing that his family was taken care of gave him a sense of peace and accomplishment.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Matthew worked as a Dairy Production Supervisor and also spent time working at Walmart and in produce. He believed in working hard and taking care of the people he loved. Among the accomplishments he remembered proudly was purchasing his first sporty Acura—a car that held a special place in his memories.

Outside of work, Matthew knew how to enjoy life. He loved music, playing the congas, going to the gym, RC drag racing, barbecuing and smoking meat, and spending time at the beach with his family. Some of his happiest moments were the simplest ones: sitting around playing cards with family, listening to his dad tell jokes, sharing a meal, and being surrounded by the people he loved.

His family will especially remember the playful side of Matthew. He loved flexing his chest and raising his eyebrows like The Rock, always bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. And in true Matthew fashion, one phrase could often be heard whenever something came up: “Don’t worry about it.”

His family also holds tightly to the funny memories from his childhood. They remember a young Matthew laughing uncontrollably after noticing a hole in his dad’s underwear. Another favorite memory came on Halloween, when his family dressed him as a “fat businessman,” stuffing his clothes with pillows until he fell over and could not get himself back up. These are the moments—the laughter, silliness, stories, and love—that his family will continue to carry with them.

Matthew was a man of Catholic faith, a defender and protector of those he loved, and someone his friends and family knew they could count on. If someone needed him, Matthew was there. His magnetic personality, generous spirit, warm smile, and heart of gold touched many lives.

Above all else, Matthew loved his family deeply. He fought to live, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him. His family will remember his smile, his kind heart, his strength, and the tremendous love he gave throughout his life.

To those who loved him, Matthew was truly a gift from God—a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, memories, and strength he gave his family will remain with them always.
