Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves, and his professional life spanned several successful careers. For 25 years, Arthur served as Owner/President of Isaacson Steel Erectors. There he built a reputation for his knowledge, integrity, and ability to bring people together. During this time, he married his former wife Marlene and raised his 3 daughters. Arthur later became co-owner and operator of a scrap recycling firm and although he officially retired in 1994, retirement did not suit his energy or curiosity for long. Arthur’s passion for fine art grew into an unexpected third career, assuming a top management position with an art publishing firm.
After finding love again, Arthur married Elizabeth and moved to Clinton where he served as First Selectman. Among his many accomplishments were the development of a senior housing complex and a local skate park. This reflected his belief that a strong community should provide opportunities and a sense of belonging for people of all ages.
Arthur had a lifelong love of words. Through his poetry, he authored his first book which was a journey of self-discovery and a legacy for his children.
Arthur is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his children; Amy and Doug Betz, Adrienne Smith, Karen Isaacson, Mike Manger, Lisa Bousquet, John and Mari Lee, Maria Lee, Richard Lee, and Gary Bousquet, his grandchildren; Lauren, Brian, Abby, Dillon, Nataly, Markai, Lauren A., Eric, Chloe, Jack, and Isabella; and his great-grandchildren, Logan and Chloe.
Arthur will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and the many lives he touched.
