I was a friend from Paris of David. We have not been seen for a very long time (I had lost his coordinates) and I learn of his death today while doing research. I'm really sad that I didn't see him again. My deepest condolences to his family and to Michael.
He was a charming man, very attentive; he was very comforting after Achim's death. A special place in my heart.

I met David at a local cafe in downtown west palm beach, I remember vividly the day we met, he walked up to me and asked “ are you a writer?, because you look so focused in whatever you are doing, and you have the look of a writer” I invited him to sit and we chatted and chatted, we would tell me stories about his past and we became friends, he met my family and I told him that he reminded me of my grandfather so I started calling him my American grandfather, I do videos for the palm beach symphony so I would invite him to concerts at the Kravis Center and even baseball games he was such a special person to me, he felt like my grand father. I would call him when I could to check on him and see how he was doing but he stopped answering and tonight September 20th I decided to look up his name on google to realize he passed away. I’m so sorry to the family, I knew David for about 4 years and he truly was a very special person to me and my family loved him as well..my deepest condolences- JeanCarlo Ramirez 

To our friend David Fischer. We loved every moment we spent with you. The world was given a wonderful person. May you Rest In Peace. I am sure you will, surrounded by loved ones. Thank you gifting us your presence and the time spent together.

I was blown away by your affability and openness to meeting & connecting with new people, even strangers at the next table. Your stories and anecdotes were inspiring and hugely impactful on me. I am still here, 7 years later.
