
Gloria Landsman, age 92, passed away August 23, 2020 after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on April 17, 1928 to Ida and George Coon in New York City. She attended Hofstra College where she met her future husband, Corporal Fred Landsman. During college, Gloria studied Biology and was president of her Sorority. She remained friends with her sorority sisters for her entire life. She went on to work as a Microbiologist and finished her career as a special education teacher. She collected glassware, plants and art and was also a superb babysitter much loved by her grandchildren. She also had a heavy foot on the gas pedal, causing her children to pray for their safe arrival
when traveling with her on the Southern State Parkway.
Gloria was predeceased by her loving husband of more than 60 years. She is survived by her son, Ira Landsman (Cynthia), and daughter Sara Worthington
(Raymond). She is also survived by her sister Zelda Jonas, and her grandchildren Adam, Michael, Daniel and Alison.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson Disease.
