Gloria L Schnur

Gloria was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on February 8, 1932, to Lillian Susswein Lees and Louis Lees. She has lived in Huntington since 1954. After earning degrees at Hofstra University and CW Post, she taught at Little Plains Elementary School and Oldfield Middle School. Her true passions, however, were the library, theater, opera, symphony, art museums, movies, TV and travel. Above all, she adored her husband of 56 years, Sidney, the love of her life.

Gloria will be sorely missed by her daughters Randi Jones and Caren Neile, her sons-in-law Richard Jones and Thomas Neile, her brother Bob Lees and sister-in-law Jody Hall, her grandchildren Rebecca and Alex Abraham and Sam and Selene Jones, her great-grandchildren Miles and Kailas, and her beloved aide Faustina Tsekpo.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 4, at 2 p.m., at IJ Morris Funeral Home, 21 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations made in Gloria’s name to the Huntington Public Library or the Metropolitan Opera.
