Jordan Schuman

Jordan Schuman, 22 of Huntington Station, New York, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2015. Jordan was a multimedia journalist at WPDE in Florence/Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Originally from Long Island, New York, she started her journey in television in the summer of 2010 at the University of Miami's pre-college program. When not working as a journalist, she enjoyed listening to country music, grabbing a nap when she could get one, shopping for shoes far too often, and always a cup of coffee to start the day. Jordan is survived by her loving family, parents Peri and Peter Schacknow, Brian Schuman and Patrice Golde, brother Justin, and grandmothers Lorraine and Roz. Jordan brought a light to others' lives that will not be forgotten. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at I.J. Morris, 21 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, New York. Interment will take place immediately following services at Mount Golda Cemetery in Huntington Station, New York. Shiva will be observed.at the Shacknow residence in South Huntington, New York; Monday through Wednesday between 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., with evening services taking place at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Jordan's memory be made to her scholarship fund at the New York Press Club.
