I remember you from the old neighborhood in KGH, when you were Linda Rosenblatt. You were in my Hebrew school class. I had a 12 year-old's mad crush on you, but you were 'older'by 14 mos. A lifetime in those days. I remember when you began your Bat Mitzvah lessons with Mr. May. You were with your girlfriend in 'Goody's luncheonette one day when I asked you out. You yelled, 'Geddouddaheeah!!!" and escaped with her to her front door, just down the street.  Not long after that, one afternoon after Hebrew class, you led me downstairs to the empty banquet room, behind a curtain, to see if I would 'do anything'. I didn't. You borrowed a ball point pen from me on the bus home from Parsons, and a gave it back minus the spring. I used to play touch football with Perry Deifik and others in the courtyard in front of your door, hoping you would appear. We would walk the same streets home from Hebrew school. I would get to my door first and then stand by my living room window to watch you walk past. I remember the short white fur jacket you wore. It was like I kept your JHS class photo forever. Yes, we went to the same high school, on separate schedules,  and I would pass you in the hallways from time to time and remember. In those years, when I worked part-time as a cashier in Waldbaum's, I would see your parents, and your sister with her fiery red hair. I remember when your mother was carrying your brother. You never came with them. The last I ever saw you, you were standing on a subway platform in your white uniform, on your way somewhere, into your future. So many years ago. 

Linda was my first friend. Her mom ,(gloria) fed me when I was a baby, and we all lived in Brooklyn in the same building.
We stayed friends for our entire lives.
