I would like to thank Reuven  for his remarkable friendship  and the memorable way he taught me to enjoy, create and appreciate art.


I met Randy online over his & his wife Pat's artwork. We became friends.
To me he was always Reu'ven, an online nic name perhaps, but we became more than friends throughout the years . We became  confidents. 
Our friendship included our art, aspirations, opinions, feelings, hopes and dreams.
We each provided a sounding board for the other and could pick each other up  when either of us were feeling down. 
We encouraged one another, inspired one another, comforted one another , wrote to one another, shared our secrets and our fears. Though we never met in person, we were there for each other and could count on each another.
Reu'ven was my best friend. 
I always looked forward to his emails and latest news about his art or family. 
We shared and knew each other in ways others might not have.
News of his death has hit me in ways I have yet to understand, as for now I do not understand. 
He was always there and this all seems so surreal. 
He was a good man, a good friend.
I am so sorry for all his close loved ones and family for having to go through this tragic  event. 
Its hard to find  the  words most fitting  that wont somehow seem hollow.
I think of Reu'ven, Randy as he is known to his family and closest in disbelief as there was so much more for him to do as such a prolific artist. 
I'll treasure the memories we shared and try to wrap my mind around this, that he may be gone for now but will never be forgotten. 
Farewell my friend. I will miss you always.

Dear Reu'ven- I'm so sorry you had to leave use so soon. I loved sitting next to you at Wet Paints Art Group meetings. You were a very unique "out of the box" guy. Your artwork was always a surprise and told us a story. Loved your painted sneakers. I have my beautiful, hand carved cane with my favorite bird the Cardinal to remember you by. I will always remember you as a friendly and caring fellow.  May you have God's peace that passes all understanding.

Refering to my dear friend as Randy feels incredibly  foreign.  I met Randy as Reu'ven Gayle in February, 2015.

I believe Reu’ven to be the most unique person I’ve ever met.  He told captivating stories, and created his art constantly.  I feel very privilaged to have inspired a number of his paintings, several of which sold at his very successful July, 2018 fundraising auction.

I still have every email message we shared and have been re-reading some of those early treasures these past couple of days.  It is impossible for me to fathom that our exchanges have so suddenly come to such an abrupt end.

I’ve heard it said that we all die twice; initially, at the moment we draw our last breath, and again at the moment someone last says our name.

If that be the case, Reu’ven Gayle will live still, for a long, long, long time.
