Dear Brianne and David,

I am so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing! 
Your Mom was our secretary at Benton & Bowles many, many years ago. We were known as Bernie & Walter, I'm Bernie Most, and my dear friend and creative partner Walter Cohen, passed away in 2007.
Your Mom was so sweet, and she was not only the best secretary,
Walter and I considered her a dear friend, and we both loved her!

I know that Walter would be just as sad as I am for your loss!!!

My husband George and I met Riva and Steve in July, 1977.  We paired up to form a team on a summer bowling league in Bay Terrace Queens.  What a fun couple!   After a week or two at the Wednesday night league the bowling alley lights went out as did the rest of NYC.  Steve’s ball was stuck in the machine.  He did retrieve his ball the following day.  But we continued bowling every week and would usually go to a diner for food afterwards.  I probably had cake and Riva would order salad.
Steve and George would sing along to oldies in the juke box.  They were actually good.  Of course Riva and I laughed a lot.  From this a great friendship grew between us.  We spent time together weekly.  While we all were still living in Queens, after work Riva was able to get off the bus  at the stop close to my home.  She would have dinner with George and I and then she and I went to a ceramics studio.  Riva had a great deal if patience to perfect better pieces than I made.  She made a beautiful gingerbread house cookie jar.  It was a masterpiece!  Steve would come to my place after getting off work to bring Riva home after ceramics, but not without hanging out with George first.  Despite moving miles apart we shared great affection for one another.  
I always considered Riva to be a “best friend”.  It is very hard to know that my dear, dear friend is no longer a phone call away.
