Dennis Merritt, age 71, ended his two-year long battle with Mesothelioma on Thursday, July 30, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet Merritt; mother and stepfather, Betty and Louis Nowak; siblings Loretta (Lori) Dave Baar, Debra (Jane) Vern Johnson, Jacqueline (Jackie) Merritt, and Steve Merritt; and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, John Russell Merritt; brothers Art Perry and John Louis Merritt; in-laws John and Marian Koole; brother-in-law, James Allen Laperna III.
