

Gabriel Garcia, age 63, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elida Rios; siblings Cruz Garcia, Ricardo Garcia; Tia Lupe, Tia Maria; Tio Genaro; niece, Valerie Mireles; Primo Matthew Martinez, Primo Frank Medina, Primo Luis Medina; father-in-law, Jerry Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Christy; son, Gabriel Jr.; and daughter, Tiannah (Madi); siblings Elma (Raul) Reyna, Gloria (Victor) Gamez, Flora (Benjamin) Sierra-Linares, Sylvia (Don) Grover, and Samuel Medina. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Laurie (Bryan) Zeeryp, Tracy (Mark) Bivins, Carrie (Ron) Bush; brother-in-law, Rick (Lisa) Thompson; and mother-in-law, Stephanie Thompson; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godkids, and many friends.
Gabe married the love of his life, Christy (Thompson) Garcia, on September 9, 2000, and they were married for 26 years. They had two wonderful children, Gabriel Garcia Jr. and Tiannah Garcia (his Chickie), whom he loved very dearly.
Gabe had a passion for hunting, fishing, and mushrooming. He loved his Jeep and enjoyed the Jeep life. Gabe loved taking cruises in the Jeep with Christy. Gabe was a fantastic cook, and he especially enjoyed cooking with his primo, Mike Martinez--always enjoyed having family and friends over to hang out and eat. Gabe loved listening to music and enjoyed his daughter playing and singing on the guitar.
Visitation with Gabe’s family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th Street, Dorr, Michigan 49323. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Christy and Gabe's home.
