Lloyd was born on June 7, 1930, to James Henry and Tanetta Louise DeVormer. Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Doris Arlene; their children Kim (Brenda) DeVormer, Marlene (Joe) Miller, Brenda (Don) Harvey, James (Dena) DeVormer; daughter-in-law, Laura Webb; grandchildren Rachel, Ashleigh, David, Heather, Holly, Heidi, Jennifer, Christina, Erica, Vickie, Jacob; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Bruinekool; and many extended family and friends.
Lloyd had many passions throughout his life, including hunting, trapping, fishing, and playing softball in the church league. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Lloyd was a member of Golden Gloves boxing; he never lost a fight! He was the proud owner of a baby grand piano, which he played nightly, regardless of what was going on around him. He worked as a Medical Technologist – Supervisor of the Hematology Department for many years at Butterworth Hospital. He developed new technology to increase accuracy and efficiency with blood testing, for which he received recognition and awards. Lloyd had a love for planes, eagles, and anything that flew. Most importantly, he cherished his faith and his family. He lived out each day reflecting Christ to the best of his ability. He spent so much time in his Bible that he needed to have the cover replaced. He will be so deeply missed.
