The boys and I are going to miss you and that massive slap shot on the ice. You'll be missed by many as you are a great person, hockey player, and family man... Cheers buddy!

Matt, you will be missed by so many people. From when we were room mates at LSSU to playing call of duty last week you were a funny, caring, great guy. Your love for your wife and kids was always on display. Two weeks ago up north when your daughter called your face lit up. You will always be remembered as a great friend, husband, son and father.

Make some great knifes with my dad up there.

Oh Engle...what a great person and friend. You will be missed! I still haven't come to grips with this, but have been thinking a lot about our friendship and the amazing memories throughout the years. Every moment is better when you were there. From having to apologize to Spincich's after wrestling in Bruce Mines and accidentally putting a hole in the drywall in their room, hanging out at your cabin on the lake, the many amazing nights in the cabin in St. Ignace for pond hockey (if table tops could talk) - I just keep thinking of great times to remember you by. You were a great person, a great friend and will be truly missed. To the Engle family - you have all been important in my life and my heart hurts most for you, Callie and the girls. Please reach out if there is anything my family can do to help in the coming days, weeks and months. We live 3 mile from the funeral home and are willing to put people up at our house if there is anyone struggling to find lodging in the area. Our love and prayers will be with you!

It was a privilege and a pleasure getting to work with Matt on several projects and getting to know him as a friend and colleague. He was a fun, witty, and talented man with a lot to share and teach, and I always enjoyed catching up with him on his latest firearm build, knife creation, or home project. He will be missed, and our prayers for peace, comfort, and healing go out to the loving family he left behind.

It's a privilege to have called Matt a colleague and a friend. He generously shared his bright smile and contagious positive attitude. He had a witty sense of humor and hilariously appropriate nick names for everyone. His presence will be deeply missed.

Prayers and support for Callie, Mia, Stella and the rest of the family.

To The Entire Engle Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Matt had an infectious personality and smile that could light up a room. I spoke with several of Matt's friends from high school over the weekend and everyone mentioned how blessed they were to have known him.

All my best during these difficult times.

Matt was a great friend. Such a big loveable guy that was good at so many things. I spent a lot of time with him from being his roommate for a couple years at Lake State to playing video games every night after work in Livonia. Daytona Beach and Port Sanilac were some fun vacations together before kids and after. You will be missed my friend. We'll be praying for the family.
