He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Delores Truax; parents J. Orville and Dorothy Truax; son, Doug Fase; grandchildren Jessica Johnson and Jay Fase; sisters Evelyn and Margie. He will be lovingly remembered by children Sue Berry, Scott (Elaine) Fase, Carl (Sara) Fase, Lisa (Jack) Knowles; daughter-in-law, Sarah Fase; siblings Don Truax, Wilma (Orville) Rood, Jeannie (John) Sanders; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Orville would rarely sit still – he was known to chop firewood even as recent as a week ago! He was a kind and humble person, who loved to lend a helping hand. Orville was a great dad and grandpa; he cherished time spent with all of his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., Dorr, MI 49323, with visitation one hour prior.
