Roger Jay Potter, age 59, went to be with his Lord Monday, April 28, 2025. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Florence Potter. He will be remembered by his loving life partner of 22 years, Melody Sessions; brother, Dan (Amy) Potter; daughter, Jenna Potter (Joey Schloff); stepdaughters Alicia Sessions (Chris Rick) and Erika Sessions; grandchildren Paisley Schloff, Clayton Schloff, plus an additional six step-grandchildren whom he loved immensely. Roger will also be greatly missed by his longtime friends Jeff Funk, Charles Snyder, Dwayne Wiers, and Ed Cooke.
Roger will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, mostly farming and fishing. Roger spent many years as a farmer, milking cows since he was about 10 years old, and he had a great reputation for how well he baled hay. He also enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending nights in his garage with family and friends.
Visitation with friends and relatives will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Kubiak Cook - Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th Street, Dorr, MI 49323. A private family celebration of Roger’s life will commence 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Kubiak-Cook - Dorr Chapel.
