Ruth was 17 years older than I and has probably done 17 times as much work as I have in my lifetime including quite a bit of sibling care. It did not, however, keep her from marrying Mike, having 7 children, and loving them all. She was the first born to our parents and I was the last born, number 11. As a small child, I remember asking our mom why, if she was our sister, she didn't live with us. I was unaware that she and Mike had gotten married and . following protocol, she had gone to live with him. It was a pleasure for me to, years later, see how well her family was represented at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. I've admired the stability of that. We loved her and will miss her greatly!

We heard about Ruth's passing and wanted to extend our sympathies to the family. We are thinking of all you.

One of my first memories of Ruth goes back to the days when I visited to play with Keith. She would give us ice cream cones with Hudsonville ice cream! It was special because at our house we only had Country Lane & no cones!

Ruth was a wonderful person with a good sense of humor. I remember visiting the farm to see her son, Jack. She noticed that I was counting place settings for supper. She grinned and let me know that she noticed. There was always room for me.

Tender Christian fellowship memories fill my heart as I think or Ruth and her lovely family we saw Sunday’s at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, both as children growing up and as our parents aged and passed away. You were always there with a friendly word and smile. Ruth and all of you were an important part of our Christian family and have been truly feel blessed by you. Our sympathies and prayers are with you as you mourn Ruth’s lose and rejoice in her being welcomed into her heavenly home. What a lovely lady God created to lead and bless you throughout her long earthly life.

Iam so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your entire family. Aunt Ruth was a beautiful lady inside and out.
I LOVED sitting next to her at Mary and Martha meetings at church. I could ALWAYS count on her for a laugh or maybe just a wink about something. She was very serious......but knew how to make me laugh too!! Great memories!!

Ruth and Mike were wonderful people and neighbors through my growing-up years and their kids were my friends. I'll be thinking of your family as you recall memories, share stories and feel the inevitable loss that comes with losing a parent. Best to all of you.
