Born on December 13, 1948, Scott lived a life defined by hard work, service, and unwavering love for his family and close friends. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a cook for four years before pursuing his passion for the culinary arts. Following his graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Scott followed his passion managing several restaurants and then becoming the owner and operator of Colonial Kitchen in Dorr, where he served the community for more than 30 years. Through his restaurant, he built lifelong friendships.
On December 29, 1969, Scott married the love of his life, Marsha (Price) Brower. Together they shared more than 56 years of marriage and had two daughters.
Scott found peace on the water, especially while fishing on the Muskegon River. He enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time with his dogs, and celebrating Christmas, which was his favorite time of year. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha Brower; daughters Sarah LeBreton (Michael) and Kerry Schaendorf (Jody); and cherished grandchildren Nick VanderKolk, Ava VanderKolk, Landen LeBreton, and Treven LeBreton. He is also survived by his siblings Beth Maycroft (Mark), Jenny Wassenaar (Garry), and Glen Kats (Patti).
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Jennie Brower.
In accordance with Scott’s wishes, no public funeral services will be held. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Project Hope of NE Allegan County, PO Box 241, Dorr, MI 49323. Scott especially loved the joy and spirit of Christmas and assisting those in need to spread that spirit.
