She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Helmholdt, parents Carl and Lena Roosendaal; grandchildren Andy Rusticus, Katie Hibma, and Jeremy Hibma; brother, Douglas Jay Roosendaal.
She is survived by her children Carlene (Tom) Cooke, Doug (Barb) Helmholdt, Joan (Brian) Hibma, Denise (Mark) Scholten . . . . . and David (Amanda) Helmholdt. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; siblings Jerry (Connie) Roosendaal, Darryl (Mona) Roosendaal, and Joyce Johnson.
Sharon deeply loved her family and there was always a pot of coffee available for anyone who came to visit. Sharon loved her Lord and now is present with Him. She will be deeply missed by all.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 100th St. SE, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
