Shirley (Wolf) Weber, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1936 on the family farm in North Dorr (Byron Center), Michigan where she lived all but 15 years of her life. She married Dennis Weber on October 13, 1956, nearly 68 years ago, and had four daughters: Nancy (Robert) Vogt, Denise (Chris) Stephens, Beverly (Julius) Lenhart, Katrina (Billy) Bregg. They have 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by sister- and brothers-in-law Dennis and Barbara (Weber) Roys, Burrell Stein; and many many nieces and nephews.
Shirley went from a farmer’s daughter to a farmer’s wife, and in doing so, had a fulfilling life that touched many lives. She was a lifelong member of the St. Mary’s Visitation Parish where she attended Mass, taught catechism, and helped with many parish functions over the years.
Shirley’s love language was gift-giving. You could not visit her and leave without receiving a home-cooked meal, home-baked cookies, hand-knit mittens or slippers, or in recent years, a basket.
After suffering a massive stroke in 2014, she taught us all the power of faith, tenacity, resilience, and love. She is now in the hands of God with her parents George and Catherine (Harig) Wolf; George‘s second wife, Catherine (Miller) Wolf; in-laws Gerald and Katherine (Steffes) Weber; brothers- and sisters-in-law Robert and Dolores (Weber) Bieber, Marvin and Kathy Weber, Phyllis (Weber) Stein, Maurice and Gertrude Weber, William and Mary Kay (Weber) Van Pelt.
Visitation will be held at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home - Dorr Chapel (4330 18th St. Dorr, MI) on Sunday, May 12 from 4-7 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish (2459 146th Ave., Byron Center, MI) on Monday, May 13 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Mary’s Visitation Building and Grounds or to Faith Hospice, who helped us with her transition from life on earth to eternal peace with the Lord.
The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookdorr.com in their guestbook online.
