Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Wilson; sister, Marcia Wilson; daughters Elizabeth Wilson, Jennifer (Brandon) Flannery, Judi DeVries, Jill Stoddard; son, Kyle Briggs; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Cynthia Wilson; son, Joel Peloquin; son-in-law, Dan DeVries; and his beloved yorkie, Molly.
Tom spent his childhood years in upstate New York. He developed a passion for public service as a New York firefighter. He moved to Michigan where he was a graduate of both Hope College and Davenport University. He continued his service as a firefighter and grew a strong interest and love for photography. His favorite photography subjects included trains, ships, and everything related to the firefighting community. He served as the Wayland Fire Department photographer for 10 years. Tom retired from RCT, Inc. after working 45 years in the transportation industry.
Tom was a true gentleman, kind and compassionate. He set a great example of how to be a good person, showing and treating all people with respect and always choosing to do what was right.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home Dorr Chapel (4330 18th Street, Dorr, MI 49323). This will include a visitation time from 4:00 to 6:15 p.m. with a celebration service scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Please join family in honoring Tom’s life. Love ya. See ya. Bye.
