Wayne Henry Helmholdt, of Dorr, Michigan, after 83 years of well-lived life, entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, November 7, 2020 surrounded by his wife and children. Wayne was born in Moline, Michigan on June 13, 1937 to Matilda and John Helmholdt.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Helmholdt; mother, Matilda DeYoung; grandchildren Andy Rusticus, Katie Hibma, Jeremy Hibma; brothers Owen and Keith Helmholdt; and his sister, Avis Helmholdt.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sharon Ann Helmholdt (Roosendaal), and their children Carlene (Tom) Cooke, Doug (Barb) Helmholdt, Joan (Brian) Hibma, Denise (Mark) Scholten . . . . . and David (Amanda) Helmholdt. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Wayne loved the yearly trips to Silver Lake with his 65 family members present.
In keeping with his wishes, private graveside family services will be held at Dorr Cemetery.
