Dear Geri and family, I am terribly saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected death of Bill. I met Bill through my cousin Jim Mackety. Jim and Bill and myself all shared a great passion for Nishnabek of Michigan. I am a Potawatomi treaty enthusiast and Bill was one person who taught me so much about the inner workings of Potawatomi Chippewa and Ottawa treaties and payments due from the US Government. There will never be another man like Bill Church. Megwetch. Bama pi. See you on the other side Bill. For your next journey...

Surprised and saddened to learn of the death of Bill. Bill was a year ahead of me at Hopkins High, but I was fortunate to be his friend. He was a wonderful scholar, athlete and artist. Had a great sense of humor and was always a kind gentleman. I was his date for his Junior prom, probably have a picture stashed away somewhere, he was loved and known by the entire student body. He was truly a class act!!! My sincerest sympathy to the family.

We are thinking of you and praying for peace and hope. We were fortunate to have spent time visiting with Bill and catching up on Hopkins football and old high school connections and memories. Alan and Bill were born one day apart in 1945. They played football together. Before the pandemic, we often grabbed a bite to eat at the tavern, and that is where we met Bill and shared laughter and got caught up . We will miss him. Love to all of you!
