Daniel Richards Thomas

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Willis officiating. A second service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March12, 2013, at Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel in Mobile, AL with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home Monday, March 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

Mr. Thomas was born April 9, 1948, in Prichard, AL. He retired from the Southern Company in 2005, after 33 years service. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir with his wife for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Deborah L. Thomas, of Dothan; a son, Daniel Richards Thomas, Jr., of Dothan; a daughter, Wendi Thomas Tice (Ronnie), of Dothan; two grandsons, Richards Logan Tice and Reese Landon Tice, both of Dothan; his parents, John Means and Virginia Richards Thomas, Chickasaw, AL; a sister, Sylvia Thomas Stollof (Robert), of Saraland, AL
