

Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel on West Main Street with Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the services.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born August 27, 1920, in Washington D.C. and lived the early years of her life there. She was a veteran of World War II having served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy. After her marriage, she along with her husband, traveled extensively, having visited all 7 continents.
Mrs. Wilkinson was employed with the National Labor Relations board in Tampa, FL for 30 years. She was also a Girl Scout leader for over 30 years in the Tampa, FL area. She was a longtime member of the American Legion and was a lifetime member of the D.A.R. where she also served as an officer. Mrs. Wilkinson was a brilliant lady and was like a mother to all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald Edward Wilkinson.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Edward Wilkinson, Jr. (Victoria) of Oregon; three daughters, Katherine Elizabeth Gray (David) of California, Barbara Ellen Brown (Vernon) of Massachusetts, Patricia Evelyn Andrews (Marshall) of Dothan; six grandchildren, Jody Lanier Jordan (Kari), Joy Elizabeth Wilkinson, Holly Frances Wilkinson, Bobby Lee Wilkinson, Michael Ray Andrews and Thomas Greggory Andrews; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Florine Jordan and Jackson Lanier Jordan.
The family would like to send a very special “thank you” to Wiregrass Hospice and special friends, Ranae Kelley and Frances Barton for their loving care of Mrs. Wilkinson.
