5 short years ago I was preparing for the impossible task of saying goodbye, precious mother. Not a day goes by that she hasn't been on my mind. Not a second passes that she doesn't fill that part of my heart that is hers alone. While still with us, too many days passed without telling her how loved and appreciated she was, my burden to bear. I can only hope that she knew.

On the 5th anniversary of one of the worst days of my life, it seems like yesterday that I heard those devastating words, pancreas, 6 cm mass.  It seems like forever since you left.
My world changed in the worst possible way, and will never be the same.
I continue to mourn the loss of you, I hold you forever in my heart.

Time may ease the pain, but the loss remains. I carry the memories of my loving mother deep within my heart, no matter where I may roam.

Lately it feels like my heart has been ripped out of my chest all over again. You were wrong, some things DO last forever. The pain of losing a loving and beloved mother is one of them.

Just past 3 years since the greatest loss in my life occurred .  Time has taught me the bitter truth that the pain of losing you will never end, but I learn to live with it.  As always, you remain forever in my heart.

What a pleasure it was to come home and find you (and the coffee) waiting!  I miss our talks about anything and everything, your presence in so many aspects of my life.  God, I just miss you so very much, but you knew that would happen.  So now, I hold the memories close, I smile, I cry, I laugh at some of them, but always, always, I wait for the time when I can speak to you and you hear me, instead of writing these words that you are unaware of. Another Thanksgiving has  passed without you, but I   remain thankful and forever grateful for the ones  that we shared.  Love you forever and missing you always. <3

  I see you in the stars at night, in the leaves that are beginning to fall, and for hours, you're just "Gentle on My Mind". You remain in my heart for all time.

My stress relief~mowing the lawn~always brings thoughts of you.  I wonder why?  Love and miss you daily.

Strange, the ramblings in my mind.. I certainly no writer in the least bit.  If I were, at this point, I would most definitely be out of a job.  I'm sorry for the times that you had called, but, I figured, "I'll call her back when I'm not so occupied.."  Most times I did, but some other things I didn't.  Those times that I didn't was Jase being Jase I guess.  Just forgetful.  Hindsight is a funny thing, ya know?  A depressing thing.  I am now left to wonder if those times you called, sometimes leaving a voicemail, sometimes not and I didn't return your call if you still knew that I loved you with all my heart.  How much I loved just talking to you, even if it was nothing but a 'rantin' and roarin'".  I hope you did.. My phone likes to keep those on my call list as "favorites."  Those that I talked to the most were listed, with the top being the one I spoke to the most.  Just recently, I got a new phone.. but, even with 11 months of not speaking to you, you were still on the top of my phones favorite list.  Now with the new phone it of course started with those that I talked to on it.  I sure wish you were on the top of that phones favorite list.  You know you would be if I could just get your number in heaven right?  I miss talking to you, rantin' to you and just, hearing you.

Tomorrow marks the last of the firsts since you're gone...the first anniversary of your passing.  I made it, as I'm sure you knew I would, I'm healing but the hurt will never be gone.  So many times on the drive home from work I think of something I want to remember to tell you when I get there, but then remember....when I get there, you won't be.  The dark days are so very difficult, but happening less often.  So very thankful for the many many wonderful times together, the love and the laughter, the arguments as well!!  How mad you would get after you would tell me I was right about something and I would respond that I'm always right!!!! I loved to tease you! How I look forward to the day when I can tease you to my hearts content, for always!! Loving and thanking you for the joy you brought to my life.

11 months to the day following the loss of you, your "buddy", JoePa has passed on. Watching the Penn State games without you will now be that much more difficult.  I love you, Mom; always missing you and hold you forever in my heart.

Thankful for the time we had, that you're  no longer suffering, and for the blessing of having you as my mom.  Until we see one another again, forever and ever in my heart.

To the family of Patricia - my condolences to all of you. I read of Patricia's obituary just moments ago. I have recently found myself reminscing about Jeff. I went to school with Jeff and although I don't remember meeting Patricia, I do remember we exchanged letters for some time after Jeff's death. I am currently taking a class on loss and grief and it brought back some memories. My memories of writing to your mother are very fond. I believe it was a mutual exchange. Mom.  Such a very small word to encompass all that you are...friend, champion, confessor, advisor, staunch supporter, confidant, teacher, referee, healer of hurts...the list is endless.  Years ago I recall you saying that when you lose your mother, you lose your best friend, and I have.  There would have never been enough time to say goodbye, but that word really wasn't in our family's vocabulary anyway.  Godspeed, Mom, until we see each other again. Aunt Pat... my favorite Aunt! Uncle Ben was also the best Uncle! They were a big part of my childhood. There are tons of fond memories. A few are... the vacation trips to rural central FL where we amused ourselves with games I invented & they always played with me! The theme parks all over the state we would go to. Our frequent trips to Golden Corral & Long John Silvers because they were the only restaurants in the county. They taught me how to play pinochle (or tried to). My Mom adored her big sister! I adored my Aunt Pat. I wish I would have told her. Kathy/Jays... so sorry for your loss. Please keep in touch & know that you are in my thoughts & prayers.

Honey, Darlin', Sweety.  I miss you so much Gma, so much.  I'm told I'll be ok "in time", and I believe that, I have to believe that.. but, when.  I know it's selfish to miss you, the pain is gone and you know longer have to concern yourself with the troubles of the world.  I'm so glad you and I had time together before you left, it's time I'll cherish along with the very many memories of before.  The love you shared and taught in your 79 years was more than most achieve in two fold.  Some would say that in my eyes you could not have done any wrong, perhaps.. but I surely cannot think of anything to suggest otherwise.  The many traits you showed and taught me such as love, forgiveness, tolerance, sympathy, etc., my heart and mind thanks you.  I AM a better person because of the time you and I shared.  I promised not to cry because of your passing.. so after this entry, I plan to re-keep that promise.  I love you grandma, so much.  I cant wait to talk to you again one day.. I miss our weekly talks.. I miss your smile.. I miss your hugs... I miss our laughter together.. I miss playing hands.. eating at Waffle House, going to Walmart.. Pinochle..  I miss you Paw Paw. Oh Kathy I am so sorry for your loss,you had a wonderful mother and I loved her so much. I thought of her as my mom, I remember the first day I met her she was scrubbing floors it was Jeff's 3rd birthday. Your whole family excepted me and from that day on I felt so lucky to have yuns in my life!

Pat was like a second mom to me when I was a kid.  We lived next door and I was always at her house or Kathy at ours.  I'm sorry that I lost touch after all these years.  I know she is once again with her son, Jeff. God bless you "Honey" and my prayers are with you
