Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Scotty Scott officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 on Friday prior to service time.

Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Cloverdale United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Edgar was born on her family farm in Alford, Florida on June 12, 1935 to the late John Lenzy Scott and Lessie Lorene Dilmore Scott. She was a graduate of Cottondale High School and moved to Dothan in 1966. She was a homemaker and served as church secretary at Cloverdale United Methodist Church for over 20 years where she was a member.

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Lee Edgar, Sr., a son, Richard Lee Edgar, Jr.; three sisters, Maurice Scott, Ernestine Covington and Enzell Nell Pennington.

Survivors include her son, David Len Edgar (Tina) of Jupiter, FL; grandsons, John David Edgar of Seal Beach, CA and Michael Paul Edgar of Jupiter, FL; three brothers, Theo Fern Scott, Leo Forrest Scott and J. Lendon Scott; several nieces and nephews.
