Mr. Anibal Martinez y Rosa, “Andy Boy” age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia, previously of both New York and North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, February 16th 2020. He was born in Isabella, Puerto Rico to the late Agapito Martinez y Concepcion and Rogelia Rosa de Martinez on May 18th 1935. Anibal was a huge baseball fan, indefinitely rooting for the Yankees. He met his wife, Geneva, on Halloween night at a party in 1963 in New York. He sweet-talked her into believing he was a Spanish singer. Their love was genuine and profound and lead to their glorious marital union lasting over 50 years. Their love created 8 children of their dreams. Anibal was very laid-back and loved his family. He would always bring home toys and treats for his kids and made time to take them to Central Park and Bear Mountain where they played baseball together as a family. A giver, throughout his 84 years on this earth, he always put the needs of his loved ones first. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” – Psalm 23, Psalm of David
