

Arlene Norton Moody, 87, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, in Douglasville. She was born on August 5, 1939, in Douglasville, Georgia, to the late Pierce Andrew Norton and Mary Miller Norton.
Arlene was the beloved wife of the late James Aaron Moody, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. She married the love of her life, and together they built a beautiful family and raised three daughters: Robin (Matthew) Durdin, Melissa Moody and Jennifer (Slava Madrit) Moody.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Aaron Moody, and her sister, Mildred Jackson.
Arlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family selflessly. She took great pride in caring for her home and family.
She had a special love for her houseplants and seasonal outdoor flowers and took joy in making her home warm and welcoming. Arlene also enjoyed socializing with her friends by phone and through Facebook, spending time with family pets, and watching her favorite soap operas. She always made an effort to stay in touch with the people she loved and had a gift for making others feel remembered and cared for.
Arlene leaves behind a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories, including her grandchildren: Tatum (Price) Garrard, Maura, Josephine, Ella, Gabriel, Maggie, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren: Azelius, Millie, and Ila.
Arlene’s love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitley-Garner at Rose Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Whitley-Garner at Rose Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, Arlene will be laid to rest at Rose Haven Memorial Park.
