Mrs. Barbara “Bob” Manly White, age 88, of Winston, Georgia, formerly of Riverdale, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. She was born November 20, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. White resided in Riverdale, Georgia for 40 years prior to moving to Douglas County. She worked as a manager for Richway from 1973 until the store closing in the mid-1980s. She lived a very family-centered life, raising her children, taking care of them, and especially loving to cook for them. She had lots of energy, was a spitfire, and would tell you like it was without any hesitation. A reflection of her vivacious spirit was her experience of parasailing for the first time in her 80's! Mrs. White was very strong in her faith and would give you the shirt off her back. She was a member of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Winston, and was very active in her Sunday School Class, who often went out for breakfast together.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Remer White, Jr.; her parents, Marion L. and Cornelia (Edwards) Manly; a son, Wayne White; a granddaughter, Kimberly White; a brother, Donald Manly; and four sisters, Estelle Manly, Mildred Manly, Rozelle Manly and Katherine Manly.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Sheila) White of Winston, Georgia; daughter, Deborah (Scott) Dennis of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Debbie White of Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren, David (Melissa) White of Villa Rica, Georgia, Jaime Turner (Brian Gillespie) of Whitesburg, Georgia, Jason (Abby) White of Newnan, Georgia, Wendi (Joey) Piles of Newnan, Georgia, Leann (Terry) Newingham of Moreland, Georgia, Jason Chambless of Newnan, Georgia, Kristen (Chuck) Lee of White, Georgia, Brittany (Jason) Mercado of Manchester, Tennessee, and Jessica Vincent of Fayetteville, Tennessee.
