As I returned to the NC coastal beaches this past week to housesit and where I lost my house to Hurricane Florence, I thank God over and over how lucky I was! At least I had my daughters house in VA to go to temporarily! So many people lost so much more!

As I continued to walk the beach I thought about the 50th reunion coming up this year! Having lived across the states I only attended one, but this one I will be!

Then out of the sky came the memories of Barbara, Becky, Cheryl and I.

Then a couple of days later I saw on FB where Barbara had passed! So many memories, so much fun laughing and clowning around! One thing I hate about not living in the area is not keeping in contact with great friends!

Time goes so fast! Life is not guaranteed !
But the memories last forever!

Condolences to Don, boys and your families, Mickey and other family members!

RIP Barbara ! Your love of giving was your psssion! I will never forget our great times!! Love You!!

Dear Don, John John and David
So sorry to hear of your loss of Barbara. She was a beautiful caring person. I went to St. Louis and spent Christmas with our boys and their families. they all got sick and so did I. I have felt rotten and so have they, but it was nice to be with them. I can truly say Don's death has been the most difficult thing I have had to deal with. The good thing is, he isn't suffering any more and he's in Heaven now, and I am thankful for that. We know Barbara is also there and resting in Jesus's arms and visiting with all of her old friends and neighbors. If you need someone to talk with, you can always call me. I will be praying for all of you. God give you peace and comfort. Love to all of you, Sue Allen

In 9th grade Barbara welcomed the new girl in class, me. She helped me get a job at Six Flags and I was there when she met Don. I was honored to be a bridesmaid.Barbara and Don are the BEST. She never changed...always kind, served everyone. Truly a Celestial being in a Telestial world. ❤️Hugs to all the family.

I met Barbara at the Woodie Fite Center. My first day there was to play dominoes and she welcomed me and showed me the rules. she made me feel a part of her family. She was a very thoughtful and loving person and I was very proud to be her friend. . I wish her family comfort as they know she is now in the arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and is no longer in any pain.

Barbara and I began as co-workers at Eastside Elementary where she patiently supported and guided me through my first year as Media Specialist. I would not have made it without her.
We worked hard and laughed harder every day. I have never known a kinder, gentler soul and I am so blessed that she was a part of my life.
May she Rest In Peace.

Dear Don and family,

Although it has been many years, Barbara has always been thought of as a gentle, kind and loving person. We remember our early years at Southwest and how welcoming and generous you and Barbara were to always make us feel at home.

Don, you have our prayers and many blessings that you find your peace in Barbara's absence and that you will be comforted in memories of your life with her.

All our love,

To Don and the Boys,

You don't know how much we loved and admired Barbara, and thank God for allowing her to be a part of our lives these last 35 or more years! We've talked about how Barbara always had a positive attitude and loving spirit , and couldn't remember a time when she was ever cross with anyone., especially not us! She spread God's love and caring wherever she went, was surely a Godly Woman. We are not telling you anything that you don't already know, but we wanted to share that with you all again!

Don, I know this has, and will be very hard for you, and know you will miss her very much. But I also want you to know, FOR SURE, that HER GOD and OUR GOD will walk with you every step and give you strength every day to get through this time! Know that we both love you

Tim & Patty
