

Betty Jean Dickerson, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 3, 1938 in Haralson County, Georgia. Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was known for her biscuit-making and her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A longtime, faithful member of Clearview Baptist Church, Betty was very involved in the bus ministry, taught Sunday School and loved to sing in the choir. She was a talented seamstress and a great teacher, imparting her knowledge of baking and cooking to the children and grandchildren. She would attend as many games and banquets as possible. Betty was a #1 fan of her family—playing ball with the kids in the front yard and continuing to play with her grandkids into her 70s. Betty was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all who loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Junius F. and Ola (Chambers) Daniell; brothers, Junius Daniell, Jr., Roger Daniell and Terry Daniell; sisters, Shirley Goldin and Glenda Schlotter; son-in-law, Carl Coker; and great-grandson, Ben Cross.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 63 years, R. C. “Bud” Dickerson, Sr.; sons, Ray Dickerson, Jr. (Amy) and Russ Dickerson (Dana); daughters, Rhonda Dickerson, Renee´ Cross and Mona Coker; brother, E.D. Daniell (Gloria); sisters, Laura Posey and Delores McRorie; grandchildren, Michael (Chrissy), Keith (Kerri), Christy (Jaxon), Bryce (Falicia), Brooke (Ryan), Alex H. (Jayla), Hunter, Haley (James), Nick (Megan), Alex C.; great-grandchildren, Caydence, Lucas, Loribeth, Brantlee, Tyler, Parker, Miles, Tilly, Reef, Reilly and Jacob; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest at Georgia Memorial Park.
