Brenda A. Raines passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born October 14, 1952 in Gastonia, NC to Charlie Chitwood and Evelyn Corrine Chitwood Campbell, who precede her in death. She spent a lifetime serving others and as a sincere powerful prayer warrior. She was a teacher for 15 years in the Douglas County School system, worked as an administrative assistant helping youth at Youth Villages - Inner Harbour for 15 years, and co-owned an Oil Distribution Company with her husband, Kirk Raines, her Prince whom survives.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her sons, Chris Raines (Becky – Daughter-in-Love) of Douglasville, Shane Wilson of Akron, Ohio; sister, Linda Powers of Lavonia, Georgia; and best friend and Sister-in-Love, Kathy Waugh of Gainesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Matthew, Nicolas, Huck, and Sawyer; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she has loved. Many others knew her as Grandma, Mawmaw, or Memaw including Gary, Megan, Zander, Heather, Landon, Connor, Brandon, Blake, Brody, Dylan, London, and many others whose life she touched.
Brenda was responsible for the first ever Just Say No to Drugs program in the 80s in Douglas County, helped start a Christian Outreach program at Inner Harbour Hospital, and a servant of Christ through Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church for many years. She will be missed and cherished by many who knew her.
Now at rest, one of her final wishes is for you to know that Jesus is necessary and loves you.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Steve Smith, Pastor Tom Kaplan, and Pastor Chris Raines officiating.
