Callie B Peden

Mrs. Callie B. Peden, age 94, of Douglasville, Ga., died Saturday evening in Austell, following a brief illness. A native of Preston, MS, Mrs. Peden was born on August 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Howell Cobb & Doris Fulton Burnett. She had lived most of her life in Douglasville having moved here with her husband, John Houston Peden, Sr.. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed quilting and attending to her family's needs. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and the Auditorium Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Peden was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, John Houston, JR. and Don Peden. Survivors include her beloved and devoted husband, John H. Peden, Sr. One daughter, Carole Jean Inge of Mobile, Al. Two sons, Carl Peden of Douglasville, and Gary N. (Diane) Peden of Jacksonville, Al. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peden will be conducted on Wednesday October 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Rosehaven Chapel of Whitley-Garner Funeral Home with Rev. Steve McFall officiating. Following services in Douglasville, Mrs. Peden will be carried to the Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, Al. for interment services to be held on Friday morning at 11 a.m. from the Mobile Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until the hour of the service at Whitley-Garner Funeral Home.
