OBITUARY

Carol Kay (Bennett) Boozer

August 20, 1959February 11, 2020

Ms. Carol Kay Boozer (Bennett), age 60, of Villa Rica, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Carol was born to the late Mr. Derrick Bennett and Mrs. Gloria Davis Bennett on August 20, 1959 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. She was quiet and reserved, but very kindhearted and loving.

A selfless person, and a born again Christian, Carol was caring of others no matter what she was going through. She was family oriented and especially loved to cook—Thanksgiving, family holiday gatherings and all of the traditional meals. When she was unable to cook herself, she would direct someone else to cook. Carol would always ask, “Are you hungry?” and answer, “OK, I'll make you something to eat.” Although she has no children of her own, she was the best mother figure to her two nephews, Chadd and Oral, whom she raised. They were the apples of her eyes.

Carol worked as a phlebotomist for over 20 years and with her gentle, quiet, and caring personality to her clients and her coworkers, she gained respect and admiration from everyone she encountered. After relocating to Georgia, she worked as a salesperson in the insurance industry, as well as a home caretaker.

During the last five months, Carol suffered ill-health, but with her full faith and trust in God despite her pain and suffering she continued to glorify God, even throughout her circumstances.

Carol is survived by her mother, Mrs. Gloria Davis Bennett; brothers, Leroy Vassel and Keeble Bennett; sisters, Elaine Foster, Sedionie Bennett Gutierrez, Lola Bennett, Desrine Bennett- Sterling and Janet Bennett-Fletcher; nieces and nephews, Mona Green, Tameka Warp, Burtram Warp, Najah Beckford White, Yanique Muschette, Janelle Muschette, Cheri-anne Huie, Alecia Thomas, Chadd Clarke, Oral Ferguson, Jr., Candace Fletcher, Rojace Fletcher, Rojaun Fletcher, Nikita Bennett, Keble Bennett, Jr., Lashawna Bennett, Natasha Wilson, Kevron Bennett, Jevaughn Bennett, Nia Bennett, Sharon Vassell-Wright, Tavia Miller, Latoya Vassell, Andre Vassell, Xavier Vassell, and Leroy Vassell, Jr.; aunts and uncles, Jean Dunn, Barbara Bent, Winson Ellis, Daisy Morris, Rose Robinson and Evelee Roginson; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 7th from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. Dennis Moore officiating. A Repass will follow the services in the Legacy Room.

Ms. Carol as her called her, was a God fearing woman. The news of her passing shocked me. I felt sad, but gained comfort that she is with the Lord. I knew her at our previous job (NCHC) in NJ. She was my prayer partner at work and we shared the word of God. What amazed me about her was, she was always with her Bible and when she had down time, her head was down reading the word. Very kind, a good listener, loved God and people surrounded by her. We kept in touch after she relocated to Georgia but lost contact few months ago 😢
Grateful that I met her with memories that can’t be forgotten. I learned to speak some words in Patois just to communicate with her. I am glad that she was a woman of faith and knew her God but sad to see her gone. To the family, may you find comfort ( Psalm 147:3), please remember that she was a daughter of Zion and in a better place.
Ms. Carol, continue to Rest In Peace.
2 Corinthians 5:8 ( I am confident that she is).

Blessing 🙏🏾

Carol became my adopted aunt in my early years. She was also loving and caring and supported me through some very challenging times in my life. She was priceless and always found it easy to give of herself. I will forever love her and her presence will always be with me. Love tearfully.

Words cannot express the feeling I am going through right now.
I spoke to you just a day before your passing and you were your usual self.

I remembered as a child you were my idol, I would follow you everywhere but then life happened and we drifted apart.

But I remember all my visits to your house from New Jersey to Atlanta, how you love to cook, eat and shop. We share a love for African clothes ( still remember the last time I visited and we went shopping).
You will always be a part of my memories
Rest In Peace Sissy Boo
