Mrs. Carol Leda Reece, age 73, of Douglasville, GA passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was born July 9, 1941. Mrs. Reece loved to cook – was famous for her cornbread, and she loved flowers. She was a wonderful Christian lady who never spoke a harsh word. She loved having her family around and enjoyed babysitting all the grandkids taking them on day trips and outings.
Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Carroll Reece, Sr.; her parents, Jessie and Nora Garmon Wilkins; and two brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Sherman C. Reece, Jr. and wife Shelley, Timothy ‘Tim’ A. Reece, and Barry A. Reece, Sr. and wife Marjie; daughter, Cheryl Ann Burris and husband Bob; brother, Dwight Wilkins; sister, Ellen Jump; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA.
