Carol Anne Waits

Carol Anne Waits age 87, of Loganville, GA passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Mrs. Waits found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often cheering them on at the ballfield and crew regattas, where she was their biggest supporter. Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, she had a special gift for baking and was famous for her delicious pound cakes, which became a treasured family tradition. A lover of words and challenges, she kept her mind sharp with crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. She was also an avid reader, finding comfort and inspiration in the pages of her favorite books. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and the simple joys of family and creativity.

Anne is survived by her children, Jeff (Michele) Waits; Mary (Alan) Pape and Greg (Jerrie) Waits; grandchildren Joshua (Whitney) Pape, Eric Pape, Nathaniel Waits, Kayla (James) Chmiola, Ethan (Madison) Waits, Ryan Pape and Morgan Mitchell as well as great grandchildren James Chmiola III and Rylee Pape.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clarence Jack Waits and her parents, Tyler Edward and Frances (Jansen) Jones.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 24 from 12:00 pm until the memorial service in the chapel of Whitley-Garner Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Following the memorial service inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in East Point.
