Chuck was our first baseman on the St Paul (Columbus, GA) men's softball 6'3", he was the shortest of our infielders. I overheard a player for one team we played ask if we were a basketball team.

To the Rutland Family,

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Chuck. We played together with the Big B Barbecue softball teams back in the late 70"s and my best memories of Chuck was his outgoing personality and thoughtfulness. He was always there to offer assistance with transportation to tournaments and travel. Chuck was a fine player and helped us win many tournaments. Even though I had not seen Chuck in a number of years he will be truly missed by those who knew him.

Prayers for your family. I am an old childhood friend of Chuck. I have fond memories of Chuck as we lived in the same Edgewood neighborhood in Columbus, GA. and attended grammar school together. I recently went on a trip with 6 girlfriends who also knew Chuck from our shared neighborhood and we all wondered where he lived and how he was doing. He was well thought of and I am so sorry to hear he has passed away. May God be with your family and comfort you during this time.
