Mr. Chester L. Baker, Jr., age 86, of Douglasville, GA, formerly of Wakefield, Michigan, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015. He was born April 24, 1929 in Winegar, Wisconsin. He was a Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Baker retired after 39 years with White Pine Copper Mine in upper Michigan. He loved being outside and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Blanche Anderson Baker, Sr.; and a sister, Marlene Hill Munz..
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Florence Baker; son, Ken Baker and wife Annette; daughter, Debbie Nickels and husband Terry; sister, Karen Dolezal; grandchildren, Brian Baker, Brad Baker and Dustin Hoffner; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Hoffner.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
