Compton Aldaine Dassent, age 64 of Douglasville, GA, passed away on November 7, 2019 at home with family by his side. Compton was born in Basseterre, St. Kitts to Kenneth and Veronica Dasent on March 14, 1955. He was a proud brother of five, father of 8, grandfather of 17, and a loving husband to his strong and dedicated wife, Brenda Dassent. Compton was a hardworking and well-respected welder for the New York City Transit with 35 years of service.

He has never met a stranger because his name and legacy rang in everyone’s ears and hearts, locally and internationally. Compton has received many awards, including those from the New York City Council Members and the New York State Comptrollers. Compton was always willing to help anyone at a moment’s notice and worked hard to provide all he could. He was an extreme family man and was the happiest around his family and his friends that he loved very much. He is especially remembered for his comedic soliloquies that will forever be engraved in his family and friends’ hearts. He enjoyed the finer things in life, and he embodied that aspect with his exuberant outfits and stylish touches in his home. He enjoyed sports, played soccer and was one of the founding members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Graduates Soccer Club in New York. His favorite teams included Atlanta United, New York Yankees, New York Giants, New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics.

Compton was truly the life of the party here in the physical; and now that he has found peace, he is the life of the party in the spiritual with his preceded family members: his grandmother, Theodosia “Tiny” Maynard; his parents, Veronica and Kenneth Dasent; his sisters, Oakley Dasent-Payne and Annette Smith; and his uncle, Sinclair “Tummy” Maynard.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Dassent; his children, Jacqueline Dassent-Hector, Germaine Dassent-Jackson, Jermaine Dassent, Compton Dasent Jr., Takia Dasent, Danika Dassent, Jael Dassent, and Tyana Dassent; his sisters, Janette Joseph; Joycelyn Dasent-Browne; his grandchildren, Tyla Hector, Tye Hector, Lariesha George, Jatavia George, Janaia Jackson, Jaydah Jackson, Shevonne Fyffe, Joseph Dent, Joshua Dent, Tyreek Queely, Maleek Queeley, Janeeke Queeley, Sanizah Dasent, Zari Dasent, Shaki Dasent, Sage Horton, and Jael V.
