Mrs. Darleen Marie Banks, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 surround by her loving family. She was born September 1, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to the late Mr. & Mrs. Gus Applying. Mrs. Banks met and married the late Mr. David E. Banks on June 1, 1945 and was married for 57 years.
She is survived by sons Larry E. Banks and the Rev. Dennis B. Banks (Cathy); grandchildren Holly Banks, Amber Banks, Alicia Edwards (David), Angela Hobgood (Garland); great-grandchildren, Haden L. Banks, Derek S. Banks, Matthew B. Richburg, Caitlyn N. Richburg, Haley M. Bettencourt, Jarod E. Artz, Kasey L. Artz, Jon Hobgood (Hanna), Hope Hobgood, Hunter Hobgood and great great-grandchild, Emma Lyn Richburg.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1 pm at Whitley-Garner Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA. A Christian Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Garden in Douglasville, GA at 2 pm. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Dennis Banks and Mr. Tim Bennett.
