He proudly served his country as an administrative clerk in the United States Air Force for 10 years. After his service, he remained devoted to his community and faith. A dedicated parishioner, usher, and Knight of Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in Douglasville, he found great joy in serving others. He especially enjoyed volunteering for parish activities and helped organize registration for the Red Cross blood drives held at the church and he helped build many homes with Habitat for Humanity.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time on the computer, completing word searches and puzzles, traveling back to Vermont where he grew up, and planning new adventures. Vermont always held a special place in his heart, and he was anticipating a trip there next month.
He will be remembered for his faith, service, and kindness, and for the many lives he touched through his generosity and devotion.
He is survived by his siblings, Lucinda Churchill, Janice Santaw, and Michael (Louise) Churchill and nephews, Drew and Curtis.
A memorial mass to honor David’s life will be held at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Douglasville on Friday, September 26 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Knights of Columbus # 10821.
Whitley Garner at Rosehaven is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements of David Edward Churchill.
