David was a skilled craftsman and owned his own lawnmower repair shop, earning the nickname "The Lawn Mower Man" for his exceptional ability to fix anything. His hands were his tools, and there was nothing he couldn’t repair. Outside of his work, David was a passionate fan of NASCAR racing and loved old westerns, particularly Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show, and was an avid collector of guns and knives. David found great joy in spending time with his family, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his brother, Kenneth Mark Cochran (Wanda); his sister, Patricia Cochran Smith (Jim); and his nieces and nephews: Craig Smith(Wanda), Sarah Smith(Ken Achenbach), Danny Cochran(Angie), Christopher Cochran(Tascha), and Jason Cochran(Amber). He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the same day. Following the service, David will be laid to rest at Rosehaven Cemetery.
