Deborah Jane Mason

Jane dedicated her career to helping others as a Program Director for the American Red Cross, where she played a key role in coordinating vital community programs and services. Her work was a reflection of her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need. Her colleagues and the countless individuals she helped will remember her as a leader who always went above and beyond in her efforts.

Outside of her professional life, Jane had a creative side that brought joy to her and those around her. She was a painter, often finding solace in her art. Crocheting was another passion she cherished, crafting beautiful pieces that she loved to gift to family and friends.

Her true joy, however, was in the simple pleasures of life: sharing sweets, laughter, and stories with loved ones. Whether gathered around the dinner table or enjoying a quiet afternoon, Jane's infectious smile and warm heart made every moment feel special.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Philip Mason and his wife Lucy, of Fort Myers, Florida; and Ray Mason and his wife Stacy of Smyrna, Georgia; brother, Andy Walton and his wife Peggy of Towson, MD; sister, Sharon Lovvorn and her husband Guin of Douglasville, GA; and her sister-in-law Terry Walton of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Chloe and Aubrey Mason and Connor and Carrie Mason. Additionally, Jane leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walton Sr.; her brother, Tom Walton; her sister, Reba Potate; and her former husband, Jim Mason.

A memorial service will be conducted at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.

In place of flowers, donations may be made in Ms. Mason’s memory to a charity of your choice.
