Mr. DeGray Raymond Demeritt, age 72, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015. He was born June 23, 1943 in Pompton Plains (Pequannock Township), NJ. He loved music, karaoke, and playing the guitar; golfing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed the outdoors in general, stargazing and flying kites. He also enjoyed going out on the boat and fishing.
Mr. Demeritt was preceded in death by his wife, June Ann Jones Demeritt; parents, Leonard and Gertrude Cook Demeritt; two brothers, Leonard Demeritt and Raymond Demeritt.
He is survived by his son, Duane Demeritt; daughter, Diana Demeritt; brothers, James Demeritt and wife Mary, Roger Demeritt and wife Brenda; sisters-in-law, Patricia Harris Demeritt and Jean McCracken; grandchildren, Michael, Brittany and husband J.R., Beth, Blake; great-grandchild, Merie; nieces; nephews; as well as other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Randy L. Bowens officiating.
