Mr. Donald George Pugh, age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia on January 18, 1939. “Pop” (as he was loving known by family) had a love for Jesus like no other. He has been a faithful member of Kings Way Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia for over 15 years. He loved to read his bible and spread the word of God any chance he could. He owned and operated his own trucking company up until his illness became too much to overcome – he loved to drive his truck. Pop was a well-loved man, having many friends from all over. His vivacious personality and gift of gab made him a pleasant person to be around. He was also very compassionate, always there to lend a helping hand should help be needed.
Pop is preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Pittman) Pugh; parents, Obie G. and Loyce Pugh; son, Brian McDaniel; and siblings, Opal Pritchard, Gene Pugh, and Mike West.
He is survived by his son, Rev. Perry (Dianna) McDaniel; sister, Janice Bennett; grandchildren, Donovan McDaniel, Dane McDaniel, and Olivia McDaniel; great-nieces, Delise Hix, Terri Smith, and Crystal Akins; great-great-nieces and nephews, Cordilya, Christian, Alex, Andrew, Aaron, Colette, and Lucky; his Pomeranian, Toby; and numerous friends and other family members.
The family will receive friends at Kings Way Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm at Kings Way Baptist Church. Following the service, Pop will be laid to rest at Corinth Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
