Mr. McKelvey was born on June 7, 1959 in Palatka, Florida the son of the late Mary Bowden Baggett McKelvey and Charles G. McKelvey, Jr. He was of the Methodist faith. Prior to ill health, he was employed with M & M Auto as a car transporter.
Survivors include his son, Billy “Mac” McKelvey of Winston; his brother, Dr. Charles G. McKelvey, III and his wife Teresa of Douglasville; mother of his son, Cindy Watts; childhood friend, Mickey Watts; niece, Meghan Harris and her husband Jake and their son, Jack; nephew, Luke McKelvey and former spouse, Michelle Judge. Significant other, Sandra Carpenter and a host of other friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. McKelvey will be conducted on Monday evening at 7 p.m. from the Rosehaven Chapel of the Whitley - Garner Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Shirley officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
