Elaine Marian Killmer

Elaine Marian Gardner Killmer, age 85 of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Friday, October 31,2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 30, 1940, in East Longmeadow, MA, Elaine lived a full and beautiful life centered around her family, faith and an enduring sense of adventure.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, CW4 Charles E. Killmer, Jr., who passed away in 2013. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Elaine is survived by her two children Ed Killmer (Lucy) and Donna Legrand (Richard), four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her sisters, nieces and nephew and their families.

Elaine had a deep passion for travel and proudly visited all 50 states and 12 countries throughout her lifetime. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploring new places were matched only by her devotion to family. She especially treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Elaine had a giving heart and devoted much of her time to serving others. She volunteered on many committees at her church, Midway United Methodist Church in Douglasville, GA, where she was loved by many. Elaine will be remembered for her kindness, grace and unwavering love for those around her. Her legacy of warmth and joy continues to live on in everyone who was blessed to know her.

Visitation will be at Whitley Garner At Rosehaven Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, November 8, 2025, followed by a Memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton GA.
