Mrs. Ellen O. Smith, age 87, of Temple, GA passed away Monday, November 9, 2015. She was born May 15, 1928 in Randolph, AL. Mrs. Smith enjoyed going to church, shopping and fishing. She also enjoyed working in her garden and canning foods. Ellen worked at Anniston Memorial Hospital for twelve years and retired from Douglas General after sixteen years of service.
Preceding Mrs. Smith in death is her husband, Silas B. Smith and parents Robert and Ida Gray.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby and Becky Ball, Wayne Ball, Larry and Karen Ball as well as Thomas and Sherry Ball; daughters Jane and Lee Ritter, Ann and Kenneth Lankford and Debra Padgett; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-two great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5 until 7 o’clock pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 in the Rosehaven Chapel at 2 o’clock pm with Pastor Kenneth Lankford officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosehaven Memorial Garden.
